A Summer in Versailles

Endlessly inspired by its unparalleled setting within the grounds of the Château de Versailles, Le Grand Contrôle invites guests to experience the unforgettable this summer.

Set sail

Providing a spectacular backdrop for the glittering parties of the French royal court, Versailles' Grand Canal was completed in 1669 under the watchful eye of the visionary gardener, André Le Nôtre. Why not take your crue from King Louis XIV, who enjoyed drifting along the Canal in a gondola gifted to him by the people of Venice, and take to the water yourself in an elegant rowboat, perfect for two. See the gardens from a whole new perspective this summer - best enjoyed with a glass of something sparkling.

Take to the skies

Very few people can claim to have seen the Château de Versailles from the sky, but with an exhilarating flight in a light aircraft, you can be among them. After a smooth take-off during the idyllic hours of sunrise or sunset, you'll soon be soaring over beautiful countryside, the Grand Canal and the Château de Versailles.

The Grand Banquet

An ode to the royal revels of the 18th century, a series of Grand Banquets invites a limited number of guests to experience the opulence and grandeur of the French royal court. In an evening full of surprises, the Grand Banquet glitters with courtly entertainment, opulent decorations, and - of course - an immaculate Michelin-Star menu by Alain Ducasse, created solely for the occasion.

Your classic car

Get away for the day in an iconic 1960s Jaguar MK2 and choose your own adventure. In your chauffeur-driven classic car, explore the verdant Chevreuse Valley with its historic chateaux and picturesque villages, or meander through the French countryside to Monet's home in Giverny, where the impressionist master painted his series of epic water lily canvases. For lovers of French history, a visit to Saint-Germain-en-Laye reveals the birthplace of the Sun King, Louis XIV, at Château Neuf.

Picnic chic

Fully embrace the regal way of life and while away the hours on a picnic blanket in the park of Versailles. Hop into an electric golf buggy to seek out the perfect picnic spot, then simply sit back with a glass of chilled rosé and discover a feast of seasonal specialities prepared for you by the chefs of Le Grand Contrôle. Seated in dappled shade, with uninterrupted views of the Grand Canal and the Château of Versailles, summer afternoons simply don't get more idyllic than this.
