Horseback riding in the ground of Versailles
A unique equestrian experience in the fabulous Park of Versailles
Louis XVI was an avid hunter, and regularly rode on horseback through the woodlands of Versailles. Marie-Antoinette, meanwhile, defied convention by sitting astride her horse rather than riding side-saddle. “Equitation” was an art form in its own right at Versailles, and a symbol of aristocratic prestige.
Here in the majestic parklands of the Château de Versailles, you too can follow in these regal footsteps and ride the same hunting paths once used by the King and Queen, as you take in spectacular views over the gardens and the Grand Canal.
