The aptly-named Villa Baulieu

On an historic estate dating back to the 17th century, Villa Baulieu offers a step back in time, sheltered from view, at the heart of Provence.

The Villa Baulieu

Not far from Aix-en-Provence, near the banks of La Durance, Villa Baulieu is one of the region's best kept secrets. For over 2,000 years, its vineyard has flourished in the crater of Provence's only volcano.
An exceptional terroir making the estate's vines, classified AOC Côteaux-d'Aix-en-Provence, truly unique. Owned by the Counts of Provence, Villa Baulieu was built as a fiefdom by Henri III in 1576. Surrounded by a superb park, this family estate now offers 12 elegant rooms. In Provençal, Italo-Venetian or Second Empire style, they all enjoy unimpeded views of the Alpilles and Sainte-Victoire mountain, the muse of Paul Cézanne.
For more privacy, the Villa Bérangère, a Provençal "bastide" with its own pool, is perfect for stays with family or friends. Gourmets are treated to refined dishes served each day in the dining-room, in l'Orangerie facing classic French gardens, or La Cour Basse. Villa Baulieu also proposes poolside relaxations, tennis, wine tastings, truffle hunting or a "wine safari" in a 4WD.
The ideal address for a chic, insider stay.
