Hot Spots in Saint-Tropez

Explore must-see addresses on the Cote d’Azur, where mediterranean heritage and the French ‘art de vivre’ come together.

Le Domaine du Muy

Nestled between the Maures mountains and the Estérel hills, this unusual property was transformed by gallery-owner Jean-Gabriel Mitterand to present a curation of extraordinary sculptures. Follow the path, which cuts through a beautiful forest in Le Var, to discover around 40 contemporary works of art from luminaries including Subodh Gupta, Nikki de Saint-Phalle and Keith Haring.

We love: the amazing kinetic lap pool, built on-site by Austrian artist Peter Kogler.

La Villa Noailles

Known for hosting the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories, this former guest residence, now a contemporary art centre, is a masterpiece of modern architecture. Designed by Robert Mallet-Stevens in 1925, today you can enjoy innovative exhibitions which are held year-round.

We love: the originality of Gabriel Guévrékian’s Cubist garden on the roof.

Commanderie de Peyrassol

Art invites itself amidst the vines of this old hamlet, founded in the 13th century by the Knights Templar. From Arman to Dubuffet, Ben and Tapies, the owner’s remarkable collection can now be enjoyed by art-lovers in the open air.

We love: the colourful reflections of Daniel Buren’s ‘Cylindre Incrusté aux Couleurs’.

Grasse

For generations, Grasse has produced exceptional flowers for top French perfume makers. Here you have the chance to stroll through fields of roses, jasmine and tuberoses on the Domaine de Manon, exclusively reserved for Dior perfumes (by appointment).

We love: the annual Jasmine Fête on the first weekend of August.

Le Jardin des Méditerranées

Between Le Lavandou and Saint-Tropez, le Domaine du Rayol features an extraordinary and unique garden basking in the Mediterranean climate. From the Canaries, California or South Africa, plants from all over the world thrive here in harmony with the sun-kissed scenery of Le Var.

We love: visiting the “sentier marin” with flippers, masks and snorkels, leaving from the Domaine’s beach.

Sentier du littoral

Escape the bustling crowds of Saint-Tropez and take a walk along the peninsula between the Camarat lighthouse and Escalet beach. Rediscover the Riviera’s sublime landscapes, the invigorating fragrance of parasol pines and beautiful creeks with crystal-clear water.

We love: pausing halfway for a delicious picnic prepared by the chef.
