Airelles - Villa Baulieu

A Private Villa in Provence

Once the homestead of the Counts of Provence, the Villa Baulieu is a masterpiece of 17th-century architecture and design. Having been lovingly restored to its past splendour, the villa’s interiors seamlessly blend baroque Tuscan influences with modern comfort and luxury.

Echoes of history

Built by the Jullien family in the 17th century, the superb villa that crowns the Baulieu estate is an historic family homestead surrounded by ancient vineyards, marble fountains and shaded grottos. Despite this rich history, by the turn of the 21st century the villa had fallen into disrepair—marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Villa’s story.

Under the care of the Guénant family, Baulieu’s legacy has been lovingly preserved, its design blending modern comforts with a dazzling variety of baroque furnishings and artwork. Each space is imbued with its own particular character, allowing guests to bask in the building’s noble heritage while enjoying contemporary luxury and impeccable service.

Where every room tells a story

The Villa Baulieu’s spacious interior offers 12 beautifully appointed rooms and suites, with sweeping views over the vineyards, the Alpilles mountains, the valley of Luberon and the Alps of Haute Provence. Each room and suite is infused with its own distinct personality, reflecting the cultural influences of the Villa’s many historic residents.

From ornate chandeliers and statues to Renaissance-style bed frames and mosaic ceiling decor, every nook in the villa is a trove of art history, inviting the viewer to ponder the many lives and passions that have flowed through its hallways over the centuries.

A home from home

In addition to these spectacular surroundings, the Villa Baulieu stands out for its devoted service and attention to every detail. Its staff includes a private chef and full butler service, ensuring your needs are not only catered to, but valued and intertwined with the inimitable art de vivre of Provence.

The Villa has always been a family homestead, and today this legacy lives on in the personalised care provided by our staff.
