Treat yourself to an exceptionally luxurious afternoon tea designed by Alain Ducasse

Upon returning to the hotel after a day at the Château, settle comfortably into the plush sofas or velvety armchairs of the Salon d'Audience, some of which are over 300 years old, to enjoy aselection of gourmet delights. The fine, delicately flavoured specialities of the afternoon tea, designed by Chef Alain Ducasse, change with the seasons.

An ode to the French Art of Living

Explore a generous assortment of pastries, Vienne-style miniature brioches, sorbets and ice cream. Those with larger appetites might like to be tempted by a bourbon vanilla millefeuille, or a chocolate ‘1724’ with a praline biscuit.

These refined treats, made by our baker and carefully presented on elegant tiered dishes will delight even the most demanding palettes. Try them along with your favourite hot drink chosen from a menu of teas, coffees and hot chocolate.

It’s the ideal time to chat to your butler between bites. He’ll be happy to share stories of the hotel with you, as well as the best-kept secrets of Château de Versailles, its woods and its beautiful gardens. The more adventurous ones will have the opportunity to pick up cards from one of the ragpickers for a short game during this afternoon tea.

A tasty afternoon tea reminiscent of the time of the Court

Marie-Antoinette adored cakes, and the Royal Afternoon Tea has been designed in honour of the Queen. Start with our version of her favourite drink, homemade hot chocolate, Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse. You can drink it au naturel or flavoured with orange blossom, as Marie-Antoinette preferred it.

Enjoy an elegant afternoon tea at Versailles out in the country air and experience Château life, far from the hustle and bustle of the town. Lose yourself within the hotel walls, which has hosted some of the grand philosophers of the Age of Enlightenment, such as Denis Diderot, Voltaire and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. This history-charged place is decorated with gilding, thick curtains and 18th-century furniture.

Treat yourself to a fabulous experience, a royal tea in a divine haven which promises warmth, elegance and privacy. Enjoy this timeless culinary journey during an unforgettable, carefully curated stay with incredible privileges.
