An unforgettable event: Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
Set sail in Saint-Tropez!
It’s a must-see event! Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is back this autumn from 28 September to 6 October 2024. A unique time of year, the event brings together sailing enthusiasts and visitors to experience a traditional local event. There will be a party atmosphere around the port for the new season of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. Over two weeks, this fishing village rediscovers its roots and welcomes the most beautiful sailing boats from around the world. It’s now an iconic event which sprung from a simple meeting and race between two sailors.
The history of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
It all started in September 1981, when Jean Laurain, skipper of a 12-metre Ikra, and Dick Jayson, owner of a Swann 44, challenged each other to a race from Saint-Tropez to Pampelonne Beach. In the years that followed, other skippers joined the regatta and it became known as Nioulargue. Many years later, it eventually became Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in 1999.
Now recognised as a major event in the sailing community, some of the most beautiful boats in the world come to Saint-Tropez for this unique two-week event.
With everything taking part, from traditional sailing boats to the most avant-garde models, you’ll see some unforgettable races.
